One of the biggest sewer line problems is caused by tree roots in the sewer lines. Trees send out feeder roots that look in all directions for nutrients and water. The trenches that contain sewer lines rarely contained compacted soil. Roots are naturally drawn to this disturbed soil. Tree roots are able to get into sewer pipes through small openings between individual pieces of sewer line pipe. Older clay pipes are often sealed with mortar, which can, over time develop cracks. If tree roots get into these cracks, they enlarge and gorge themselves on water and food provided by the sewer. Common household products, such as root control / elimination products purchased at the store, rarely can control this problem. The chemicals in these products are only able to affect a small portion of the roots that are causing the problem. The best solution is to have Brinks Services, and their professionals, to come and use a sewer line camera. Using a small camera, which is sent into the sewer line, our experts can pinpoint the exact location where the roots are entering the pipe. And with our state-of-the-art equipment, we can even find the depth of the sewer pipe. Armed with this data, we can permanently solve the problem for you. |
