Blowers / Dehumidifiers Equipment Used in Water Damages Water Extractor - This is a mechanical device that is used to remove water from a floor surface. Using our extraction equipment, our technician can effectively remove water prior to installing the appropriate drying equipment. Air Movers / Blowers - Sometimes called "dryers", these are "squirrel cage" blowers secured in a plastic housing and are powered by 1/3 to 3/4 horsepower electric motors.
Air movers circulate the moist air across the fins of the dehumidifiers and, in doing so, speed up the drying process. Most air movers are equipped with housings that allow them to be tilted at 45 degrees or 90 degrees to facilitate the drying of walls and ceilings. The number and placement of air movers is critical to effective drying and our technicians are trained to evaluate the situation to produce an air flow that will ensure maximum efficiency.
The dry air is then forced back into the structure, replacing the moist air and completing the cycle. The goal in any water damage restoration project involving the combined use of extraction, air movement, and dehumidification should be to obtain balanced drying. This means that once the water has been extracted, the proper quantities and ratios of dryers to dehumidifiers are installed, thereby eliminating dollars wasted on excess equipment. Our technicians are trained to find the right balance and get your house or business back to normal. |
