Mold can grow anywhere in and around the structure of a home or business. If there is visible mold on surfaces, you should be cautious about what is under or behind that surface. The environmental conditions under that surface or behind that wall differ dramatically from the outside and mold could be there.
Mold Inspection:
Brinks’ professionally IICRC trained personnel will perform a visual inspection, which includes a walk through and around the structure and make recommendations.

Odors can come from water damaged materials such as wet carpet and pad, furniture or cabinets, etc. Finding the offending odors can be tricky and removing, killing or masking the odor is a process of selecting the right method to match the offending odor.

| Ozone: Probably your best solution as it bonds at the molecular level with odors rendering them inactive. Air quality can be improved because ozone molecules remove suspended particles and oxidize organic odor molecules. Brinks has units from the small XT-400 to the large XT-6000. |

Get professional advice, because you may be wasting your efforts or creating further damage. Brinks' IICRC Certified Professionals know how different materials react to smoke, fire and heat and are proud to offer a “Turn-Key” approach to restoring your home or structure. We have a staff of IICRC individuals trained in fire, smoke and heat damage along with the equipment to handle your loss from start to finish.

We can scan entire rooms in, under, and around the structure in the home to determine if there is any sign of water damage or moisture present. Thermal Imaging Cameras lower the labor costs of determining moisture or water damaged materials by reducing the building materials that need to be removed to properly perform moisture testing. Since this tool is not a moisture meter we will use it to find heat anomalies and then pursue the issue further in an attempt to determine the source of moisture and water intrusions and eventually the cause of the moisture, water and/or leak. Thermal image scanning can detect temperature anomalies in the building materials not visible to the naked eye which may be a precursor to a larger issue. The provided thermal images can be a great aid in finding and identifying moisture and water intrusion issues.

Left unaddressed, moisture problems can lead to costly aesthetic damage to your home (deterioration of finishes), lowered insulation values in your walls (leading to higher energy bills), and degradation of the building itself (including corrosion of nails, staples and braces that hold your house together, and decay of wood framing and sheathing).
And when there is too much moisture in a home, mold and mildew can grow, causing the air in your house to not only smell musty, but in some cases become unhealthy to breathe.
In Southern California, concrete flat slabs are commonly used in basements or subterranean garages. Pedestrian walkways, planter areas, and lightweight structures are commonly built on top of these concrete flat slabs. Moisture can migrate through the concrete flat slab and efflorescent can reduce the strength of the concrete.
Common Moisture problems include:

An associated problem is corrosion of metal pipes. A primary cause of moisture intrusion through a flat slab ceiling is the poor drainage condition of the flat slab surface and poor waterproofing of the slab joints. |
